POIKA – an exceptional Chow-Boy!
Jul 2nd, 2010 at 6:33pm

Mereley 3 months have passed since Tippa’s sudden death and I have to share sad news with you again …

After almost 16 years, my long-time, faithful companion Poika left me forever. It happened yesterday morning, July 1st 2010.

Poika was my first Chow and he soon confirmed all the admirable traits which had attracted me to our breed. In his (and my) youth, we went almost everywhere together; we travelled throughout Europe by train and enjoyed the spectacular view at 4000 m in the Swiss Alps. Once Tippa had moved in, we were a very happy Trio and many happy years followed.

Poika enjoyed long walks and chasing deer (with me hanging on to the other end of the leash of course), barking at rabbit ears which would stick out in a field, or informing everyone at home that a squirrel had passed the garden. But above all, he was most happy when all our family was united and he would be lying smiling under the coffee table.

...

It will be very quiet here now … Poika & Tippa will, however, for ever be with me in spirit and I look back cheerfully on the wonderful times we had together. They were both very much loved – and they loved all of us back manyfold.

Christina

Dear Christina,

Our hearts go out with you, Christina. Your beloved Poika passed away. Poika, a true legend!
A "Chow Legend" is missed.

It all started with Poika and later on Tippa, The Black Pearl, joined. A Happy Trio!

Poika was the one who made the difference for you and thanks him your Cyberspace activities started. The result: NetChows.com......., ChowChow.at.
Poika made you CHOW CRAZY!

Remembering these early days very well and how our friendship started.

Poika made the difference and will never be forgotten; nor by you, nor by us.
Moreover he was my Schnitzel Boy!

Impressions on Poika can be found on ChowChow.at

Christina, it will need time to accept and moments of silence will be strange. No snoring, no barking....

Yes, Poika was an exceptional Chow-Boy!

Attached a picture with Poika and Tippa which was taken in 2003.

Yes, you can look back to a wonderful time.
And know..... There is always a future!

Peter

Dear Christina,

Early this morning I heart the sad news already from Peter,
I am so sorry. First Tippa and now your Chowmade Poika,
evenif he reached a marvelous age, it's always to soon.
You will miss him deeply. I morn with you and yes a house
without a Chow is an empty house Sad Sad
And like Peter says you can look back to a wonderful time
with both your Chows.

Love from Ted and a big  Kissfrom Bram

Oh Christina...I am so sorry to hear about Poika. What a long and wonderful life he led with you, though. You will always cherish the wonderful memories. Godspeed, dear Poika.

Oh Christina,

I`m so so sorry for you!
At the moment I can`t find the words which I could tell you to feel better or to give you hold....

But... if there would be the perfect words for it - I would write them down - only for you!

Sending you my thoughts and a big hug...
...I`m so sorry Christina

Dear Christina,

I am so sory for you!
What wonderful chows have been with you for long, happy years! Now you are alone. No Tippa and Poika are there at your home anymore.
I do understand your sadness! It's so hard to say good-bye forever to our beloved and true firends.

Dear Friends,

Thank you for your kind, heartfelt words - they mean the world to me!

A friend here in Austria wrote me last week that Poika had been like an anchor to her, and that she had thought he would never pass ... it had become easy to believe that, in a way.

I thank you for your sympathies and thoughts!

Christina

I am so sorry for your loss of beautiful Poika .
They do break our hearts when they go to rainbow bridge.
This is the part of being owned by a chow I hate.
I miss all mine very much.
Night bless Poika Special one.
You are all very special.
Shirley.

How did I miss this???

Christina, I am so sorry to hear that Poika has left this world, but he did live a long and happy life! Many chows don't even live half the life he did, so I am sure it feels good to have had him with you for so long!
It's always hard to loose a beloved dog, but knowing they lived a full life makes it a little easier.

Poika and Tippa will always be remembered !

Hei Tarja,

Kiitos!

Chow-terveisin,
Christina

Shirley, Tarja, Jess .... thank you so much!

I was truly blessed with Poika & Tippa ... they were a huge part of my life, and so much evolved through them which stays on of course.

Thank you for your support!

Christina
